Setup & Care

What's in the Box

The string arrives with the cotton ball lights attached to a small battery compartment. You will need two AA batteries, which are not included.

Setting Up

  1. Open the battery compartment by sliding off the cover.
  2. Insert two AA batteries, matching the polarity marks inside the compartment.
  3. Close the cover and switch the compartment on.
  4. Unravel the string gently, starting from the battery end.
  5. Drape or hang the balls along a shelf, headboard, fence or railing.
  6. Switch off at the battery compartment when not in use to save power.

Using the Lights

The string gives a steady, warm white glow with no dimming, colour change or music function. Each cotton ball holds a single LED, so the light is soft and diffused rather than bright and direct.

Placement Advice

The 1.5 metre, 10 LED string suits a shelf, mirror frame or small window. The 3 metre, 20 LED string works well along a longer stretch, such as a fence, staircase or garden railing. Because it runs on batteries, it can be used indoors or outdoors.

Care and Cleaning

Switch off and remove the batteries before cleaning. Wipe the cotton balls gently with a dry cloth. Avoid soaking the balls, as the cotton covering is not designed to be washed.

This cotton ball string light runs on two AA batteries (not included), so there is no cable to hide and no socket required. It is made for indoor use and can go outside on a dry evening, but bring it in before rain, as the cotton balls should not get wet.
