Setup & Care

What's in the Box

The wall sconce arrives as a single fitting with a ceramic backplate, brass arm and scalloped ceramic shade. A bulb is not included, so have an E27 bulb ready before fitting.

Wall Installation

  1. Switch off the mains power at the fuse box before starting any electrical work.
  2. Hold the ceramic backplate against the wall at the chosen position and mark the fixing points.
  3. Drill and plug the wall, then secure the backplate firmly with the supplied screws.
  4. Connect the wiring to the terminal block. Live to live, neutral to neutral, and earth to earth. If you are unsure, use a qualified electrician.
  5. Attach the brass arm and shade assembly to the backplate.
  6. Restore power and test the sconce using the push button switch.

Adjusting the Shade

The shade angle is adjustable at the joint between the arm and the fitting, so the light can be angled towards a nightstand, mirror or wall, rather than straight ahead.

Placement Advice

At 14.5 cm long and 15 cm high, this sconce suits a bedside wall, either side of a mirror, or spaced along a hallway. Fit a single sconce for a reading light, or a pair for a symmetrical look. It is not waterproof, so in a bathroom fit it outside the splash zones, away from the bath, shower and basin.

Care and Cleaning

Switch off and allow the fixture to cool before cleaning. Wipe the ceramic shade and backplate with a soft, dry cloth, and polish the brass arm gently. Avoid abrasive cleaners, solvents and excess moisture near the electrical parts.

Made from brass and ceramic, the sconce takes a standard E27 bulb, which is not included, so you can choose the brightness and colour temperature that suits the room. The fitting accepts a 220–240 V UK mains supply and is hardwired to the wall.
