What's in the Box

Each Melt pendant light ships with the glass shade, a metal ceiling canopy, an adjustable suspension cable, and all necessary fixings. Check all components are present before beginning installation.

Ceiling Mounting

1. Turn off the mains power at the fuse box before touching any wiring.
2. Fix the ceiling canopy to a suitable joist or ceiling rose using the supplied screws, ensuring it is securely anchored to support the weight of the shade.
3. Connect the live, neutral, and earth wires to the corresponding terminals. If you are unsure, consult a qualified electrician.
4. Thread the suspension cable through the canopy and adjust the drop height to suit your ceiling. The cable length is adjustable to fit a range of room heights.
5. Attach the glass shade to the cable fitting and ensure it is seated firmly.
6. Restore mains power and fit a compatible LED bulb if one is not already included.

Recommended Hanging Height

Over a dining table, hang the shade so the bottom of the glass sits roughly 70 to 80 cm above the table surface. In an open living space or hallway, aim for a minimum clearance of 210 cm from floor to shade base.

Bulb Compatibility

The Melt pendant is fully LED compatible. For the best effect through the glass, choose a warm white LED bulb (2700 K) with a clear or lightly frosted finish.

A Note on Professional Installation

Hardwired ceiling fittings must be installed in accordance with UK wiring regulations (BS 7671). If you are not a competent electrician, we strongly recommend hiring a qualified professional.
