The Pendant Light That Makes Every Room Feel Considered

You know that moment when a room feels almost right but something is missing overhead? A bare bulb or a forgettable fitting drags the whole space down, no matter how carefully you've styled the rest of it.

The melt pendant lamp answers that problem with a sculpted, organic glass form that catches the light in a way flat shades simply cannot. It draws the eye upward and gives any living space a genuine focal point.

This modern glass pendant light for the living room sits somewhere between functional lighting and decorative art. Once it is up, it is the first thing guests notice and the last thing you want to change.

Designer Ceiling Pendant Light Built to Last and Impress

Crafted from glass and metal with a distinctive molten silhouette, this elegant glass hanging light is available in four sizes from 15 cm up to 38 cm in diameter, so it scales beautifully from a hallway nook to an open plan living and dining space.

Choose from Gold, Red, Silver or Grey to complement your existing scheme, and enjoy the fully adjustable suspension cable that lets you position the shade at exactly the right height. It is also LED compatible, keeping running costs low without sacrificing warmth of light.

Softstead offers free UK delivery on this designer ceiling pendant light, and every order is carefully packed to protect the glass. Order with confidence knowing your new centrepiece will arrive safely and ready to hang.

What's in the Box

Each Melt pendant light ships with the glass shade, a metal ceiling canopy, an adjustable suspension cable, and all necessary fixings. Check all components are present before beginning installation.

Ceiling Mounting

  1. 1. Turn off the mains power at the fuse box before touching any wiring.
  2. 2. Fix the ceiling canopy to a suitable joist or ceiling rose using the supplied screws, ensuring it is securely anchored to support the weight of the shade.
  3. 3. Connect the live, neutral, and earth wires to the corresponding terminals. If you are unsure, consult a qualified electrician.
  4. 4. Thread the suspension cable through the canopy and adjust the drop height to suit your ceiling. The cable length is adjustable to fit a range of room heights.
  5. 5. Attach the glass shade to the cable fitting and ensure it is seated firmly.
  6. 6. Restore mains power and fit a compatible LED bulb if one is not already included.

Recommended Hanging Height

Over a dining table, hang the shade so the bottom of the glass sits roughly 70 to 80 cm above the table surface. In an open living space or hallway, aim for a minimum clearance of 210 cm from floor to shade base.

Bulb Compatibility

The Melt pendant is fully LED compatible. For the best effect through the glass, choose a warm white LED bulb (2700 K) with a clear or lightly frosted finish.

A Note on Professional Installation

Hardwired ceiling fittings must be installed in accordance with UK wiring regulations (BS 7671). If you are not a competent electrician, we strongly recommend hiring a qualified professional.
